The fiber optic module is designed for reliable, secure and controlled communication between the operator and the UAV or unmanned ground vehicle (UGV). It is optimised for combat environments where interception protection and jamming resistance are critical. The length of the fibre optic is up to 10 km, which provides an effective tactical radius of up to 8.5 km. Such communication allows maintaining control over the platform on the front line, performing reconnaissance, destroying enemy equipment and manpower, and performing special tasks with high accuracy.
The spool is compatible with FPV drones, copters with a diameter of 10 inches or more, strike unmanned platforms and UGV. The design is adapted for combat use: the bracket mount simplifies integration into existing solutions, and the size and weight are optimised to maintain aerodynamics, agility and speed. It is a versatile solution for safe control in the complex environment of modern warfare.
Data is transmitted via modern protocols: S-BUS, CRSF and Ethernet, which allows the spool to be integrated into most control systems. It operates in a wide voltage range from 5 to 30 V, so it can be easily connected to most drones and platforms. The fiber optic has curl resistance up to 7.5 mm, which is critical during agile flight. This is not just a connection, but a secure control channel that can withstand combat loads.
The BTRY ground station is the control centre for fiber optic-based systems. The device converts control signals from the remote control and video from FPV goggles into an optical format for transmission via fiber, and also performs the reverse conversion for data reception. The station has a durable plastic case and is equipped with the necessary connectors for connecting the remote control, video devices and power supply.
