Modern FPV drones have long ceased to be mere toys or “flying cameras.” They are tools for our daily challenges, where every component affects performance, range, and stability. Rechargeable batteries are arguably among the most important components, as they determine how long the drone will stay in the air, how much thrust it can generate, and how it will perform under load.

Data on battery configurations and the popularity of various drone models are taken from Flash Army—our partners—where a wide variety of drones, UAVs, electronic warfare/electronic countermeasure systems, and much more are actively featured.

Let’s start with the most common platforms, namely 10-inch FPV drones. Most of these drones use the classic “6S” configuration, which provides an optimal balance between power, voltage, and overall efficiency.

For example: 

The General Chereshnya 10” kamikaze drone uses a 6s2p (8400 mAh) or 6s3p (12000 mAh) battery. This is the so-called “flexible approach”: a smaller configuration for lightness and maneuverability, a larger one for increased flight time. The same approach is used in this manufacturer’s 10” AIR anti-aircraft drone. For these platforms, we offer similar high-quality batteries of our own production: 6s2p Molicel (8400 mAh) and 6s3p Lishen (12000 mAh)

It’s worth highlighting solutions that use multiple batteries at once. One such example is the 10” “Freedom-106” bomber, where the manufacturer recommends 2–3 6s2p batteries (8400 mAh) using the included XT90–XT60 adapters

Here, you can use two of our 6s2p Molicel packs (8400 mAh) for a total capacity of 16,800 mAh, or prioritize flight time and use three 6s2p Samsung packs (10,000 mAh) for a total capacity of 30,000 mAh.

This approach offers configuration flexibility, quick replacement, and precise adaptation to a specific mission. This is particularly relevant for tasks where the payload or flight range varies.

Meanwhile, the 10” Vyriy kamikaze drone already uses a 6s4p battery (16,000 mAh). This is a high-capacity option designed for longer flight times and more stable performance under load. For this solution, we offer our 6s4p (16,000 mAh) pack built with Lishen cells. To achieve even greater capacity and extend flight time, you can choose packs built with Molicel or Samsung cells.

Let’s move on to more powerful “8S” batteries, suitable for larger platforms, such as 15” drones or specialized missions, and providing higher voltage and better efficiency over long distances.

For example, let’s take the 15” “Zhakh” kamikaze drone from BlueBird and the Antishahed BULLET from General Chereshnya. Both use 8s3p battery packs. 

For drones with extended range (fiber-optic), even higher-capacity packs are used—for example, the 15” Optix kamikaze drone from Vyriy with a 35 km range. It uses one or two 8s4p batteries. This allows it to achieve maximum flight endurance during long missions.
