In June 2025, the Russian Federation carried out 2,736 drone attacks on Ukraine using Shahed/“Geran” drones, including up to 700 drones in a single day. The effectiveness of interceptor drones is estimated at 70%, compared to 40% for mobile groups. Ukrainian Sting and STRILA have already demonstrated confirmed combat use. The AI-powered Sky Sentinel system showed results — 6 targets shot down in one night. The Raven air defense system has already launched over 400 missiles with 70% effectiveness. Skynex proved the advantage of 35mm guns with programmable ammunition. RapidRanger will receive reinforcement from the UK: 5,000 Starstreak/Marlet missiles and £1.7 billion in funding. Radar stations play an important role, but the queue for domestic models already exceeds one year. The Armed Forces of Ukraine have contracted tens of thousands of interceptor drones, but the Ministry of Defense is lagging behind in their deployment.
