It’s time to turn the quantity of Ukrainian drones into quality: a single national center must ensure autonomy and the integration of artificial intelligence into domestic unmanned systems.
Ukraine stands at a critical juncture in the drone war: despite producing millions of unmanned vehicles, the lack of a unified national policy, coordination, and standardization leads to chaos, wasted resources, and technological lag behind Russia. The solution may lie in transforming the Unmanned Systems Forces (USF) into a central coordination body that unites developers, manufacturers, and operators of drones, introduces standardization, competitions for best designs, modular approaches, and systematic personnel training. Otherwise, within months, Ukraine risks losing the drone war—one that determines its future day by day.
